Detectives arrest suspect in Burien shooting

BURIEN, Wash. —

Detectives arrested a man Friday night in connection with a Burien shooting that left a man critically injured.

The shooting happened Thursday before 5:30 p.m. in the 15600 block of Fourth Avenue South.

Authorities responded to the scene and found an 18-year-old man that was shot.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Police searched for the suspect, but could not find him.

Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News detectives arrested 26-year-old Linley A. Valdez Friday evening.

Valdez was booked into the King County Jail.

According to police, Valdez and the other man met for a type of deal involving electronics. Then the two argued and investigators said Valdez opened fire.
