SEATTLE - Detectives arrested a mother-son team that carjacked a woman at the Northgate park-and- ride Thursday night.

Police took 24-year-old Kendrick Epps and 54-year-old Nancy Epps into custody Friday after they arrested them at a hotel in the 13300 block of Aurora Avenue North.

According to police, a woman was loading bags into the trunk of her car when Kendrick Epps grabbed her from behind in a bear hug and put his hands over her mouth.

As the woman was trying to free herself, she heard a woman urging her to hand over her keys.

When the woman broke free, she dropped her keys and saw Kendrick and Nancy Epps speed away in her Jeep.

Police said a witness heard the victim scream and tailed the suspects. According to police, Kendrick Epps lost control of the Jeep, struck a parked car and careened into a curb.

Police said Kendrick and Nancy Epps then fled the scene on foot.

Authorities said they found items at the scene of the crash that they have tied to Kendrick and Nancy Epps.
