TACOMA, Wash. - The future of college football players will be decided Thursday night as the first round of the 2013 NFL draft begins at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Lloyd and Constance Trufant will be holding their second draft party for their youngest son, University of Washington defensive back Desmond Trufant, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News partner the Tacoma News Tribune.
In 2003, the Trufant family held a party for its oldest son Marcus Trufant. He was a Willson High School and Washington State University alumnus and was selected No. 11 overall by the Seattle Seahawks.
Ten years later, the Trufant family will be having the same experience come Thursday night.
“We’re real excited,” Lloyd Trufant told the News Tribune. “We’re real proud of Desmond and his accomplishments so far. I just hope things work out for him and he’s comfortable where he lands. Other than that, he’s just getting ready to see when his name will be called.”
The Associated Press released a mock draft on Monday and Desmond Trufant is projected to be a No. 30 pick to the Atlanta Falcons.
