ROCHESTER, Wash. - An officer was injured while investigating a domestic dispute Saturday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance between a husband and wife on the 3900 block of 183rd Ave SW.
According to police, the wife, Nicole J. Duff, picked up a shovel and threatened to hit her husband with it.
An officer attempted to detain her. According to Thurston County police, Duff responded by becoming physically and verbally hostile towards him. She kicked, bit, scratched and punched him.
She was stunned with a Taser and then taken into custody, with the assistance of her husband, on suspicion of second-degree assault.
The deputy sustained numerous scratches on his face and a bone in his right hand was broken.
Duff was released from Lewis County Jail Sunday afternoon, according to police.
