BONNEY LAKE, Wash. - A man was taken into custody early Monday morning after an assault and house fire in Bonney Lake, deputies said.
East Pierce firefighters responded to a report of a domestic violence situation in the 12100 block of Prairie Ridge Drive East after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
When crews arrived in the location there was a house fire.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Detective Ed Troyer told KIRO 7 stabbed his mom with a pair of scissors and set a mattress on fire. She was treated for her minor injuries.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire.
No firefighters were injured.
The man was booked at the Pierce County Jail.
