Demolished overpass falls onto Tacoma street

TACOMA, Wash. — A piece of a Tacoma overpass that's under demolition has fallen onto South Tacoma Way, says KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty.

"Chunk of SR16 overpass under demolition has fallen onto South #Tacoma Way. Fire says water main, gas line and power disrupted," McCarty says in a tweet.

South Tacoma Way is closed between M and Pine streets, Tacoma Fire says.  "Underground water main, power and gas lines effected," Tacoma Fire tweeted.

No one was hurt.
