Skier injured near Snoqualmie Pass

SNOW LAKE, Wash. — A backcountry skier was injured Sunday in an avalanche at Snow Lake near Alpental, according to King County Sheriff’s Office officials.

A search and rescue team responded to the area after the reported injuries near Snoqualmie Pass. The Sheriff’s Office said the skier may have two broken legs.

The Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter, Guardian 2, responded to help in the search but could not fly because of weather conditions.

Search and rescue crews located the injured skier Sunday evening and will carry him out.
