Crews fight brush fire near Riffe Lake

LEWIS COUNTY, Wash. — Crews on the ground and in the air battled a brush fire that burned about 10 acres of timberland in Lewis County, said officials with the Department of Natural Resources.

The fire is burning near the east end of Riffe Lake and smoke was reported to be visible for miles.

Officials said dry and dusty winds fueled the fire.

The start of the fire is unknown at this time.
