City Councilmember Kshama Sawant was charged with disorderly conduct on Wednesday, according to SeaTac City Attorney, Mary Bartolo.
SEATAC, Wash. — Three other protesters are also facing charges, after the group was arrested in the Alaska Airlines protest on November 19th.
The November protest was sparked by a challenge to the Port of Seattle’s authority to regulate airlines.
"This is about political leadership. All the best activists in the past -- and in the present -- have put their lives on the line to fight for the rights of workers," Sawant told KIRO 7 in November.
