Conn. shooter could have been headed to Wash.

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The mother of the gunman who massacred 26 people on Friday was considering moving with him to Washington state.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Nancy Lanza appeared to have decided to move out of Connecticut so that her son, Adam Lanza, could attend college in another state.

Nancy Lanza had reportedly started looking at schools in Washington state and North Carolina.

"She was willing to uproot her life," friend John Bergquist told the Los Angeles Times. "Nancy pretty much made it clear that she needed to be with him because he couldn't handle being on his own."

Adam Lanza was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday.
