OLALLA, Wash. - Dozens braved the cold water and even colder air to take the polar bear plunge Tuesday in Olalla.
The event is one of the biggest polar bear plunges in western Washington.
Many wore funky outfits.
"What better way to welcome in the New Year than in a pink suit?" said participant Troy Turnley.
The temperature of the Puget Sound in the Olalla area of Kitsap County was 45 degrees at the time of the plunge.
Despite the sun, the air temperature was in the high 30s.
