PORT LUDLOW, Wash. - A Coast Guard crew rescued three adults and two children from a sailboat near Port Ludlow Saturday morning.
According to Coast Guard officials a 34-foot sailing vessel, Slacker Jack, was 2 miles offshore when the boat encountered bad weather conditions.
When the Coast Guard Cutter Terrapin crew arrived, the sailboat was taking on water over the side.
Crews rescued the five people on board the sailboat. They were evaluated by Jefferson County emergency medics and later released.
Coast Guard officials said the Slacker Jack is adrift but doesn’t carry any threat of pollution.
