OLYMPIA, Wash. - Snow falling in Thurston County caused a spate of crashes Christmas morning.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill said that there were 35 crashes from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
One driver on Interstate 5 in Olympia lost control of his pickup, and then lost the boat that he was towing.
Late Tuesday morning, Gill said the majority of collisions were happening on State Route 8 and State Route 101, where heavy snow was falling.
It is not known if anyone was hurt.
Most of the snow will turn to rain Tuesday afternoon, expect in the western parts of Hood Canal where 6 inches or more of heavy snow will fall.
