CHEHALIS, Wash —

Two women were charged Wednesday by the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the death of a Chehalis teenager.

Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that Talia Date and Megan Day, both 22 years old, face 13 criminal charges each in connection with the death of 16-year-old Tyler Gonzalez.

Date and Day allegedly brought hard liquor and beer for a teen party at a Chehalis home in May.

According to prosecutors, Gonzalez was at the party, got drunk and wandered onto a road.

Gonzalez, dressed in dark clothing, was lying down in the 100 block of Brockway Road when a driver came around a corner and struck him.  He later died.

Police said his postmortem blood alcohol level was 0.17.

Date and Day are facing six counts of furnishing liquor to a minor and seven counts of reckless endangerment.

KIRO 7 obtained surveillance video that prosecutors said that shows the two women purchasing the alcohol the night of the party.
