Man accused of killing grandparents officially charged

SEATTLE — A man accused of killing his grandparents at their Renton home was formally charged Wednesday at the King County Courthouse.

Michael Chadd Boysen, 26, is accused of killing Norma and Robert Taylor in March just hours after he was released from prison.

Prosecutors said Boysen strangled his grandparents.

Boysen was arrested on March 12 in Lincoln City, Ore., after a manhunt and 10-hour standoff with police.

During the arraignment hearing, Boysen’s attorney said that his client wanted to express his condolences to his entire family.

Boysen was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated murder. If he is convicted, Boysen could face life in prison without release or the death penalty.
