BEND, Ore. - Firefighters battling two fast-moving wildfires northwest of Bend were bracing for a hot and windy Sunday.

Two blazes, first spotted Saturday afternoon, quickly grew to more than 6,000 acres.

About 250 homes remain under an evacuation order, and authorities say another 2,000 are in an area considered threatened.

Fire information officer Lisa Clark says there's no estimate for when the fires will be contained.

Crews on Sunday plan to focus on preventing the fire from spreading east and south toward homes, and on protecting the City of Bend's watershed to the west.
