Police: Cars damaged after being struck by bullets in Beacon Hill

SEATTLE — Police said shots were fired in Beacon Hill early Saturday morning, and two parked cars were struck by bullets.

The incident happened in the 1500 block of 17th Avenue South.

According to Seattle police, officers responded to  the location after a report of shots fired and people running.

When police arrived at 3:20 a.m., they found several shell casings in the street and two parked cars were struck by bullets.

Police said no witnesses or possible victims came forward to speak to officers. However, police got in contact with a man who was armed and near the area, but he had a valid concealed weapons permit for his firearm. Police said his gun was a different caliber from the casings found at the scene. He was later released.

The incident remains under investigation.
