Employee killed when car slams through office

RENTON, Wash. — An employee who was inside a Renton insurance office when a car slammed halfway through the building has died from her injuries, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Chris Legeros said.

Video from Chopper 7 showed the car halfway through the office’s front door and window.

The office is that of Farmers Insurance at 45 Logan Avenue South in downtown Renton.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m.

Legeros said the woman was trapped under the car when it crashed through the office.  Firefighters extricated the victim and then performed CPR, but she could not be revived.

The woman has been identified by her family as Kaye Hall. She lived in Bonney Lake.

The driver of the car in the crash is an 80-year-old woman.   She appears to be OK.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
