TACOMA, Wash. —

A Tacoma family set up a surveillance system at their home and caught a burglar on video.

Brentt Mackie installed cameras at his house because his family was fed up with the crime and wanted to protect his home.

On Wednesday, a burglar stole an air compressor from Mackie’s garage and he was caught on camera.

Mackie posted the video to YouTube on Thursday and he hopes the video will help catch the burglar by the end of the weekend.

“I wanted this guy’s face out there, I want this guy apprehended, and I want him to be held responsible for what he did,” Mackie said. “I had a feeling, we both had a feeling, that they would come back.”

Mackie installed the cameras after burglars hit his house in April, and they got away with $15,000 worth of items.

“The first time we were burglarized, they took all my jewelry, and they took my clothes out,” said April Mackie, a victim of the robbery.

The Mackie’s have posted the video on their Facebook pages for more people to see.

As of Saturday, the video has been viewed more than 5,000 people.

Police haven't arrested any suspects.
