LONG BEACH, Wash. - A Washington State Patrol trooper got more than he bargained for after he stopped to check out a mudslide near Long Beach Monday morning.
The trooper was out of his car when the slide carried a tree onto his cruiser's hood, causing it to erupt into flames.
The WSP said another car then crashed into the trooper's vehicle.
As the cruiser burned, ammunition inside began exploding. The fire also spread to the other car.
Both vehicles were destroyed, but no one was injured.
