Trump said that the meeting is still "being worked out" and no exact date has been released. It is expected that Trump and the North Korean leader will meet in late May or early June, CNN reported.
Pompeo is Trump's nominee for Secretary of State and conducted the meeting with no State Department or White House officials attending. Only intelligence officials made the trip with Pompeo, CNN reported.
The meeting happened over the Easter weekend, The Washington Post reported.
Trump spoke of the meeting between Kim and Pompeo Tuesday from Mar-a-Largo, where he is meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Trump mentioned that the United States had talks with North Korea "at very high levels," but didn't go into detail about who met or what was discussed, the Washington Post reported.
