A one-year-old is safe after her mother’s car was stolen with the child in the back seat.
Bothell police responded to a report of a stolen car just after 9 p.m. Friday night near the 12900 block of 182nd Place.
Police reported “the parent was picking up another one of her kids from daycare at the time of the vehicle theft.”
The car was found minutes later in the 12900 block of Holly Hills Drive. The doors to the vehicle were locked and the child was unharmed in the back seat.
The King County Sheriff’s Office, Guardian One and the Bellevue Police Department helped track the child and vehicle.
Bothell police Sgt. Ken Seberich told KIRO 7 that a man was arrested nearby and taken into custody on unrelated charges, “but (police) are unsure if he is the suspect who stole the vehicle. They are comparing finger prints tonight,”
KIRO 7 will bring any new information on this incident as it becomes available.
