Bomb threat puts Tahlequah-Point Defiance ferry out of service

VASHON ISLAND, Wash. — A Tahlequah to Point Defiance route ferry was out of service Saturday due to a bomb threat, said the Washington State Patrol.

According to Trooper Chris Webb, a person called the U.S. Coast Guard stating he knew someone that was going to detonate explosives at the Tahlequah Terminal.

The ferry was traveling to Point Defiance Terminal in Tacoma.

The State Patrol and a K-9 unit responded to the location to sweep the boat.

The ferry was back in service just before 4 p.m.

Homeland Security are investigating the incident.
