Body found in water off Olympic Beach Park in Edmonds

EDMONDS, Wash. — At 8:50 a.m., Edmonds police received a call that a body was in the water off of Olympic Beach Park.

A passerby had spotted the body floating face down just off the shoreline.

Edmonds police and Fire District 1 personnel responded and removed the body from the water and started administering CPR, but were unable to revive the man.

The victim was elderly and fully clothed except for his shoes.

Edmonds detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner was contacted and will determine the cause of death and released the name of the victim once the next of kin have been notified.
