Body found in vehicle believed to be missing Everett woman

Everett police were looking for Ethel A. O’Neil, 89.

EVERETT, Wash. - Authorities believe they found the body of a missing 89-year-old Everett woman.

Police said a helicopter rescue team with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office located 89-year-old Ethel A. O’Neil’s vehicle in the 13400 block of 12th Street Northeast in Lake Stevens.

Authorities then found an occupant deceased in the vehicle. The identity of the occupant has not been released.

The Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

Police said O’Neil was reported missing in July. Police said O’Neil drove herself to the Everett Mall but never returned home.

While she does not suffer from any serious medical conditions, O’Neil is showing early signs of dementia, family told police.

She drives a baby blue 1987 Chevy Nova with Washington license plate ADP6803.

Everett detectives are continuing their investigation.
