Body found inside car in Arlington parking lot

ARLINGTON, Wash. — Police are investigating a body that was found inside of a car in an Arlington parking lot Thursday afternoon.

Police said a person reported a body that was found in the lot of the Haggen grocery store at 20115 74th Avenue Northeast.

Arlington police responded and found a parked car with a body in the passenger side.

Police are not sure at this time the cause of death and are still investigating.

The identity of the body will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Mount Vernon Police Department Lt. Chris Cammock told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that on Monday, officers responded to the 300 block of Anderson Road on a report of shots fired.

When police arrived, they did not see anything and cleared the scene.

On Tuesday, a homeowner, who lives with others at the home, arrived at the home and found some blood in the residence.

The homeowner was concerned about someone that might possibly be injured and a car was also missing.

Mount Vernon police sent out an alert and since then, they have been looking for the tenant.

The missing car was the same vehicle found Thursday in the parking lot.
