Bicyclist struck by car in South Seattle

SEATTLE — A bicyclist was struck by a car in South Seattle Thursday morning on Airport Way South.

Seattle police said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash in the 9400 block of Airport Way South Thursday morning.
A KIRO 7 News crew saw police giving the driver of a Nissan Maxima a field sobriety test, and then officers let the driver go.
KIRO News video showed the victim’s bike in a ditch along with a helmet and backpack.
Airport Way was closed at Norfolk Street for traffic collision investigators.

The victim in his 40s was transported to Harborview.
