Bicyclist hit, trapped under semi in SoDo neighborhood

SEATTLE — A bicyclist was struck by and then trapped under a semi truck in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The bicyclist was hit at Fourth Avenue South and South Spokane Street about 3:15 p.m.

Preliminary information indicated that the man in his 20s came around corner when he was hit by the truck and dragged about 25 feet.

The man was found under truck’s axle, which was bent in half.

He was alert and conscious and could move all of his limbs after he was extricated by firefighters and had a swollen face and shoulder abrasions.

He was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he will be examined for more serious injuries.
