WOODINVILLE, Wash. -  A Woodinville neighborhood woke up to a 365-pound black bear caught in a trap yesterday morning.
Residents have noticed an increase of bears roaming in the area along 217th Avenue NE. At least five bears were spotted a week ago by people in the neighborhood. They reached out to Fish and Wildlife for help.
An officer installed a trap and video camera. It didn’t take long to capture a bear on camera. First it headed straight for a garbage can that was out for pick up and then went into the trap.
A wildlife officer tranquilized and tagged the bear.
After spending the night in the trap, the bear was released shortly before noon Monday.
