Baby born on side of freeway

SEATTLE — A baby boy was born early Tuesday morning on the shoulder of Interstate 5.

The Seattle Fire Department received a 911 call reporting the baby's mother was in labor along southbound I-5 at Mid-Boeing Field at 2:32 a.m.

The caller then reported the baby was born inside a blue Honda CRV that was parked underneath the 158 freeway exit sign.

Seattle Fire Department paramedics cut the umbilical cord and transported the mother and baby to Valley Medical Center in stable condition.

Trooper Julie Judson said that the baby was the third baby for the Ayres family.

The baby, a healthy boy, was named Logan Ayres.
