LACEY, Wash. —

A 10-year-old boy walking to Olympic View Elementary near Lacey tells police he was the victim of an luring attempt.

The boy told Thurston county detectives a man in a silver car, possibly a Saturn, stopped and offered him $100. The boy told authorities that he told the man he would like the money and the man told the child to get into the vehicle. When the boy hesitated the man also indicated he had toys in the vehicle.

According to Lt. Greg Elwin from the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, the boy told the man “no,” and safely walked away and went to school to report the incident. Two other students witnessed the incident but were too far away to hear what the man in the car was saying to the boy.
