Authorities investigate suspicious package at Everett gas station

EVERETT, Wash. — An investigation continues after a suspicious package was found at a gas station in Everett Wednesday morning, police said.

Before 6 a.m., police received a report that there was a package at a pump at the Fred Meyer station on 19th Avenue Southeast near the Everett-Bothell Highway area.

A bomb squad was called to the area to investigate.

According to police, the suspicious package was a pressure cooker and did not contain explosives or detonation devices.

Stores in the area were temporarily closed off.

Police said surveillance video showed a person dropping the pressure cooker off, but there is no video of a vehicle.
