B.C. child in Amber Alert found safe in Montana

An Amber Alert issued by British Columbia for a missing child who was abducted by his father has been canceled after the two were found in Montana.

Police released photos of 3-year-old Alvin Barnett and his father, 39-year-old Robert Barnett.    The child is from the Elk Valley region of southeast British Columbia.

It's believed Robert Barnett abducted his son during a supervised visit at a hotel room at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

Police said they believed Barnett and his son crossed into the U.S. at Eureka, Montana.

Highway signs lit up around 9:30 p.m. urging people to call 911 if they saw the vehicle.

The alert was canceled at 7 a.m. Friday.
