GRESHAM, Ore. — An Amber Alert was canceled Saturday night after police took the suspect in a Gresham shooting into custody.
The Gresham Police Department asked for the public’s help in finding 36-year-old Joshua R. Cavett after a Saturday morning shooting at a Gresham-area apartment. He fled with his 2-year-old daughter Paige Cavett.
Authorities said Joshua Cavett is Paige’s biological father, but does not have legal custody. He was believed to be armed and dangerous.
Joshua Cavett is described as a white man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 265 pounds, has several tattoos all over his body, including his face and neck. He is believed to be wearing a puffy black coat, backpack and dark baggy pants when he was last seen.
