Aberdeen shooting leaves 1 injured

ABERDEEN, Wash. — Aberdeen police are investigating a shooting that left a 37-year-old man injured early Friday morning.

Police said at about 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fight involving four to five people at the Travel Lure Hotel on Wishkah Street.

As police were on their way, they were told shots had been fired.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of firearms being shot in the hotel’s parking lot and a man in a room with a gunshot wound.

Medics treated the victim and took him to the Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

According to police, a Cosmopolis officer was on his way to assist in the shooting investigation when he saw a 17-year-old boy in the area. The teen had a concealed semiautomatic handgun.

The teen was arrested and taken to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Police said they are looking for three other men who were at the scene, involved in the fight and in possession of handguns. They men are believed to be between the ages of 17-21 and possibly Hispanic or Native American. They were described as wearing black jackets, black shorts and black baseball hats.

According to police the three fled the scene after the shooting in a 1996 to 1999 Honda Accord with dark-tinted windows and alloy wheels.
