74-year-old man confronted by burglar in North Seattle home

SEATTLE — A 74-year-old man was confronted by a burglar in his North Seattle home Saturday night, police said.

At about 8 p.m. the man was inside his home in the 2700 block of Northeast 87th Street when he heard a noise coming from the rear end of the house.

Police said after the man saw light coming from the bathroom, he went to investigate and was confronted by an unknown man standing in his hallway.

The burglar pushed the man and then ran out the back door.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area for the suspect but could not find him.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

Police described the man as an unknown race, 6 feet tall with a heavy build, wearing dark clothing and possibly a ski mask.

Police will continue to investigate.
