3 injured in I-5 crash in Fife

FIFE, Wash. — A Thursday morning crash involving three vehicles closed off all southbound lanes on Interstate 5, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision happened after 3 a.m. at Milepost 137 on southbound I-5 in Fife.

According to State Patrol, a Ford van was disabled on a lane when a Toyota Camry struck the van. After the Toyota hit the van, a green Mazda struck the Toyota.

The driver of the van was injured and taken to Tacoma General Hospital, and the passenger was not injured. The drivers of the Toyota and Mazda were injured and taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

Troopers shut down all the lanes of southbound I-5, but reopened them after 5:30 a.m.

State Patrol said the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
