3 Fairchild AFB airmen killed in Kyrgyzstan crash

SPOKANE, Wash. — Three airmen from Fairchild Air Force Base died from a crash Friday near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan, said officials with the Department of Defense.

Capt. Mark T. Voss, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, Calif. and Technical Sgt. Herman Mackey III, 30, of Bakersfield, Calif., died in a crash of a KC-135 aircraft.

The three airmen were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
