2 hurt in chopper crash near Ocean Shores

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. — Two people have been taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a helicopter crash Friday morning near Ocean Shores.

The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office told KIRO 7 the 76-year-old pilot and his 51-year-old female passenger from Forest Grove, Oregon, were planning to land at Hogan’s Corner near Ocean Shores to do some clam digging with relatives.

As the chopper was about to set down, it crashed.

The rotor was broken off the helicopter when it ended up on its side.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
