2 children dead after shooting at Kennewick home

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Quick Facts:

Police in Kennewick say a 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were found dead after a shooting at a home.

Both children had multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the children’s stepfather came home Monday to find the children dead.

According to detectives, there was no sign of a break-in at the house.  A handgun was found at the scene.

Washington State Crime Lab investigators were called to the scene because of their special training in ballistics and bullet trajectory.  The will determine the location where all the gunshots were fired.

Police would not speculate if the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.
