100 Boeing employees to receive 60-day notices

One hundred manufacturing engineering employees at Boeing will receive 60-day notices Friday.

EVERETT, Wash. — KIRO 7 Eyewitness News partner the Daily Herald reported Boeing plans to reduce its engineering workforce by 1,500 to 1,700 people by the end of the year, with as many as 700 engineers facing layoff.

In the last six months, the company has let go of 700 contract workers.

Boeing officials said it has reduced its workforce because development work on several jets has been completed, and other potential programs have been approved.
