1 man dead, another critically wounded in shootout

One man was killed in a double shooting near Burien and another man is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.
The shooting occurred at South 102nd Street and 10th Avenue South in the Boulevard Park neighborhood.
Police received a call around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday from residents of a nearby home who said they heard multiple gunshots, at least one of which hit the house and caused the occupants to go down to the floor.
"When they heard the gunshots, anybody who was up, they said, 'Hit the ground,’ and then they picked up the phone and called 911.  That's the best thing you can do -- not leave the house, but call us and let us come out,” said King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cindi West.
The caller said after the shots, they heard a car hit a tree in their front yard.
When deputies arrived, they found the passenger in the running car dead from a head wound and the driver, who was also wounded, in critical condition.
A handgun was found in the car.

BURIEN, Wash. — Police said neighbors reported hearing another car leave at the time of the shooting, but no one saw it.  Police have not been able to confirm that there was another vehicle involved.

Detectives said at least one other house and another car in the neighborhood were also hit by gunfire as a family slept inside.

Deputies said at least one of the people in the house knew one of the victims.

West said they had no suspects in the shooting as of Wednesday afternoon.
