1 hurt in Tacoma temple fire

TACOMA, Wash. — One person was burned Saturday night trying to put out a fire at a Buddhist temple in Tacoma, investigators said.

The fire happened at 8204 McKinley Avenue before 8:30 p.m.

According to fire officials, the fire was in one room of the temple.

Firefighters told KIRO 7 a person in the temple was burned while trying to extinguish the fire out.

The person was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Firefighters were at the scene working on hot spots for more than two hours.

Fire officials will investigate to determine the cause of the fire.
