KING COUNTY, Wash. —

Firefighters say one person died in a fire in Skyway Monday afternoon.

The fire in the 12200 block 78th Avenue broke out around 12:16 p.m.

Video from Chopper 7 showed some char marks on the roof but most of the damage appeared to be on the inside.

When firefighters arrived, they did search and found someone dead in the living room area.

Neighbors said it was a woman who died in the fire.

They saw her walk  into the house 30 minutes before the fire started.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that when they saw the fire, they banged on the door to see if someone was inside. One man even tried to knock down the front door. He smashed in windows, too, but was unable to reach anyone inside.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Authorities are trying to determine if a crime may have occurred.
