ORTING, Wash. —

A man was killed after a fire ripped through an Orting home early Sunday morning, said Lt. Steve Goodwin of the Orting Valley Fire and Rescue.

The fire happened at a mobile home in the intersection of 230th Avenue and Patterson Road around 1:30 a.m.

When crews arrived at the location, there was a fully-involved fire at the home, which was upgraded to a second-alarm. There were reports of a possible occupancy inside of the home, said Goodwin.

Neighbors attempted to get an elderly man in the back area of the mobile home, but were unsuccessful.

After crews extinguished the fire, they found a man dead inside.

There were two additional injuries.

One person had smoke inhalation, and was taken to a local hospital. The other person was treated at the scene and then released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
