1 dead, 1 injured in Skagit County motorcycle crash

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — A passenger on a motorcycle died Saturday night in a Skagit County crash, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision happened on Cook Road east of Collins Road at 5:44 p.m.

The State Patrol said a driver in a Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Cook Road, and a motorcycle with two occupants was attempting to make a left turn on the road.

According to troopers, the Honda failed to stop behind the motorcycle and struck it.

The two occupants on the motorcycle were taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. The driver was injured and the passenger died at the hospital from her injuries.

The State Patrol said the driver of the Honda was not injured, and he was driving under the influence.

The man was booked into the Skagit County Jail and charged with one count of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
