1 dead, 1 injured in gang-related shooting in Sedro-Woolley

After a double shooting at an apartment complex in Sedro-Woolley, the crime scene spread to a pharmacy and put a hospital on lockdown.
One man was killed and another was injured in what police said was gang-related violence Monday night.
Police said the man killed at the Cascade View Apartments was known by officers.
Investigators said the two victims came to the apartments, perhaps to settle a score, but when they got to the apartment, people inside opened fire.  Bullets went through the door and hit both men.
One man died at the scene.  The other managed to get to a Rite Aid around the corner.
Medics brought the survivor to Skagit Valley Hospital, which was put into lockdown for fear gang members would try to hunt the survivor down, police said.
“There was another shooting involving several people associated with these folks in either Mount Vernon or Burlington in the last week. We believe it was something related to that -- a retaliation-type thing or they were coming over to settle some score,” said Sedro-Woolley police Officer Lt. Lin Tucker.
Word spread quickly among people who know the victims.
“We're already seeing some of the family members that were speaking to us getting texts from somebody else saying, ‘Keep your mouth shut, don't talk,’” said Tucker.
Some family members of the victims confirmed to KIRO 7 that the shootings were connected to gangs but would not give details.
