7 things to do this weekend: Nov. 16 - 18

1) Movie madness: Seattle Turkish Film Festival – Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17. Attendees will get to view various short films featuring Turkish culture. On Friday, "The Legend of The Ugly King," will play. Follow this link for details.

2) Food show: Gobble Up – Saturday, Nov. 17. This event will allow you to sample and enjoy various foods all day. Also, discover new products to use at home. Local food and beverage vendors will also be on hand. Follow this link for details. 

3) Activity central: Julefest - Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18. There will plenty of musicians and singers. People will get to hear Scandinavian fiddlers and watch folk dancers. Kids will get to enjoy crafts and other activities. Santa will also be in attendance. People will also get to try foods like: Norwegian waffle cookies, Danish and Norwegian ringed layer cake. 4) Romantic drama: Arms & the Man – Running until Sunday, Nov. 18. This play is all about rival soldiers who are warring after the heart of a beautiful and young Raina Petkoff. When the war is over, the real fight begins for Petkoff. This play will be performed at the Center Theatre at Seattle Center. Follow this link for details.

5) Tis the season: Seattle Festival of Trees, Fairmont Olympic Hotel – On Saturday there will be a gala dinner and auction. A family and friends' event Sunday will encompass storytelling to children, a choir singing Christmas music, homemade cookies and more. People can also catch the Fairmont Olympic Hotel's Teddy Bear Suite and child-sized gingerbread house, running until Dec. 26. Follow this link for details.

6) Jingle time: "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" – Running until Saturday. This musical stage performance will bring back the 1970s nostalgia of cartoon shorts that include songs like "I'm Just a Bill" and "Conjunction Junction." It will be performed at the 12th Aves Arts – Mainstage Theatre. Follow this link for details.

7) Animal amazement: Stunt Dog Experience, Bothell – If you love dogs, then you may want to go see Chris Perondi's dogs perform at the Northshore Performing Arts Center. The center is located at 18,125 92nd Ave. Northeast. The show is reportedly an experience you won't forget. Follow this link for details.
