7 things to do this weekend: July 29-31

1. Torchlight Parade/Fanfest - Saturday, July 30: The Torchlight Parade is finally here, and you don't want to miss out on the fun. Starting at noon, Torchlight FanFest will kick off the night's festivities with a preview of many of the iconic floats you'll see in the parade. The floats will be lined up along Mercer Street on display for all to see and, of course, take photos. The pre-funk ends just in time for you to grab a good seat for the big show. The Torchlight Parade is the Northwest's largest nighttime parade. From the giant floats to the drill teams, you are in for a night to remember. The Parade begins at 7:30 p.m. on 4th Avenue. (Can't make it to the parade? KIRO 7 will be broadcasting the entire event live beginning at 7 p.m!)

2. Live glass-blowing: Avalon Glassworks sells handmade gifts and décor right out of their West Seattle shop. They also offer free glass-blowing shows. Glass-blowing takes a tremendous amount of skill, so this is your chance to see how this process works and learn from the pros. Ask all the questions you'd like, then shop their glass art gallery, or enjoy a delicious cup of Joe from a nearby local shop.

Chateau St. Michelle Wine Country Blues festival- Saturday, July 31, 3 p.m.

4. Pista sa Nayon- July 31 9 a.m.-8 p.m.-

Come celebrate Filipino culture at this unique and exciting festival.

is a traditional festival that has quickly become loved and appreciated among Seattleites. All are invited to Seattle's Seward Park Amphitheater to enjoy Filipino cuisine and entertainment for all ages. Pista is just another one of the many Seafair summer events.

Hike Cape Disappointment- anytime-

Now that it finally feels like summer in the Seattle area, it is the perfect time to get outdoors and explore the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Despite its name, Cape Disappointment will not disappoint. Located in Southwest, Washington, this beautiful state park sits along the coast in Long Beach, Wash. Follow the trail out to the historic North Head lighthouse, or find a nice spot at the park for a picnic lunch. Cape Disappointment makes for a great day hike, or weekend camping trip.

Classic Car show- Sunday, July 31- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.-

From the looks of it, all of the cool kids will be at the Kirkland Classic Car show this weekend. Or at least the classic-car-loving cool kids. In addition to tons of vintage cars to check out, the show will also feature live music and a beer garden. The show will be emcee’d by host of the TV show, “Vintage Vehicle Show,” Lance Lambert. Jazz in the Valley- Friday, July 29- Sunday July 31-

In case you find yourself on the other side of the mountains this weekend, be sure to stop by

in Ellensburg, Washington. Junior Cadillac, Clinton Fearon and Kim Archer Band are among the many jazz musicians who are part of this year’s lineup. In between concerts, sip some wine from one of the tasting locations, check out an art museum or two downtown, and don’t forget about the county farmer’s market.
