7 things to do this weekend: Aug. 17 - 19

1) Culture, tradition: Chief Seattle Days, Suquamish – Friday to Sunday, Aug. 17-19. This event is a public festival that will feature a traditional salmon bake, canoe races drumming and much more. On Saturday, there will be a family-friendly parade and a 5K run on Sunday. Follow this link for details.

2) Town fest: Snoqualmie Railroad Days – Friday to Sunday, Aug. 17-19. People who attend this event will be able to enjoy entertainment and art. There will be a kiddie parade and a grand parade Saturday morning. And there will also be timber sports action. Follow this link for details.

3) Celebration: Duwamish River Festival, Seattle – Saturday, Aug. 18. This event is all about community. People can enjoy a bike ride from All City Coffee in Georgetown and ride to the festival at Duwamish Waterway Park in South Park. Enjoy dancing, song and activities for the kids. 4) Garden fun: Chomp, Redmond – Saturday, Aug. 18. Attendees will be able to take delight in various delicious cuisine. There will also be great cooking demonstrations and time to learn about the Earth and nature. Also included, music from groups like Unkitawa and True Loves. Follow this link for details.

5) Time well spent: Celebrate Woodinville Festival – Saturday, Aug. 18. A host of activities will be awaiting those at the fest.  Starting early in the morning will be a community pancake breakfast and a parade. Kids will be able to enjoy a dinosaur show, magic and more. 6) Kids experience: Kids Obstacle Challenge, Seattle – Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 18-19. The adventure is designed for kids ages 5-16. It is a chance to army crawl through mud, rope swing over water, dodge floating cannonballs and so much more. Follow this link for details.

7) Brazilian culture: BrasilFest, Seattle – Sunday, Aug. 19. It's a chance to enjoy the culture that likes to dance, drum and perform capoeira. This community event will take place at Seattle Center. There will also be kid activities and exhibits. Follow this link for details.
